Good news for the dental teams with the announcement of NHS England. It has been confirmed all dental team members and their support staff in NHS and private settings will receive priority access to the COVID vaccine. As a result, current government plans mean dental teams should be offered the first dose by mid-February.
Dental Teams Vaccine - Making our patients feel safe
Not only will vaccinations keep our team members safe, but they will ensure that patients who come into our practices feel safe as well. This is great news for our patients especially if they feel nervous and anxious. Communicating this message out is vital and clear patient communications informing them of this is important.
How safe is it to visit the dentist?
As dentists, you know delaying dental care could potentially lead to more severe — and costly — problems down the road. It is vital to continue with routine exams and complete any recommended treatment during the pandemic. As we await our turn to be vaccinated, you can rest assured that your dental office is as safe as ever. Dentists will continue to implement extra safety measures as recommended by the ADA and CDC. This will be in addition to the infection control procedures we have always followed. This is a clear message you will want to get out to patients and continually given them reassurance.
HOW CAN YOU COMMUNICATE WITH PATIENTS?
99% of users visited a social platform or messaging service in the past month according to social media statistics. It's a vital opportunity to capture this audience and keep your social media platforms up to date. You can add regular updates, images, videos, and messages. It’s also a great place to add links to your website for more detailed information.
Connecting through your website with clear information and COVID updates. We find adding a pop-up that appears for website visitors reassuring them you are open. Also, include a section on your website dedicated to information about COVID and the changes that patients can expect at the practice.
Virtual Consultations may now be here to stay! They offer a socially distanced way to discuss dental treatments with new patients. Communicate with your existing patient base and if they have concerns about their oral health. Virtual consultations enable communication to be made easy for the patient ensuring there is an easy-to-follow, quick system to book an online consultation free of charge on the practice’s homepage. Either with a treatment coordinator or clinician.
